Feeling of the night: Grateful

As the Director of Sport for Girls Water Polo at Clovis North Educational Center, I am grateful for the support of our athletes, parents, administrators, and community.

Tonight’s match-up against Clovis High was a special one.  Tonight we as an aquatics community took a moment to honor those within our community who have fought the hard fight and won, while taking a moment to remember those who are no longer with us.

I am grateful to stand on deck with the young student-athletes who went to battle tonight and fought together as the clock ticked it’s way through each quarter until the final buzzer sounded.  They are working their way through a full-time job in the water and another in the classroom, but they do it for each other.  They push each other to make themselves stronger athletes and better teammates for each other.  They buy into the idea that every rep matters and everyone on the team matters. #weculture

I felt a swirling sensation of emotions as the game came to its conclusion, but after receiving a congratulatory text from an administrator who heard of our win, I truly felt grateful to have that support.  It was awesome to see the elation on the parents’ faces as they hugged or high-fived an athlete tonight, their continued support in the program is a major part of the athletes’ success.

Thank you all for showing your support to OUR team, the athletes and coaching staff appreciate your efforts in working to make this season continue being a positive one.
